2026 Happy Gilmore Golf Tournament Recap

What an incredible day! Thanks to a packed house at Ridges at Sand Creek, our 9th Annual Nickel Open Golf Tournament & Banquet was a tremendous success.

To every golfer, sponsor, donor, volunteer, and supporter—thank you. Your generosity makes this event possible, and more importantly, it helps save lives.

As we closed out 2025, the Nickel Open proudly surpassed $250,000 in total donations to NAMI Minnesota—a milestone that fittingly coincided with America's 250th Anniversary celebration. Every dollar raised helps expand access to mental health education, awareness, advocacy, and life-saving resources for individuals and families throughout our communities.

During Saturday evening's banquet, your generosity was on full display. In less than 10 minutes, attendees raised more than $26,000 to support the #988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and the extraordinary work it does every day for people experiencing a mental health crisis. The impact of #988 continues to be felt nationwide. A recent New York Times article reported that the availability of the #988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline has been associated with an average 11% reduction in youth suicides across the United States—an estimated 4,400 young lives saved in the past year alone.

We were also honored to present a $10,000 donation to the Parrish Family Fund, supporting its ongoing efforts to expand mental health awareness, programs, and facilities throughout M Health Fairview. We are proud to partner with organizations that share our commitment to ensuring that no one faces mental health challenges alone.

Finally, a special thank you to Steffenhaugen Photography for capturing the memories from this year's event. We are excited to share some of the first photos with you and look forward to posting many more in the days ahead.

From all of us at the Nickel Open, thank you for believing in our mission. Together, we are creating hope, breaking the stigma surrounding mental illness, and making a lasting difference—one life at a time.
